Michele and Mariah met in 2020 while working at a top-ranked international law firm. Although based in different cities, they became fast friends over the phone. Mariah honed her research, writing, and editing skills before, during, and after law school. Working as a paralegal, Mariah edited and cite-checked countless legal briefs, memoranda, and letters. At Columbia Law School, she received the highest grade in her first-year legal writing seminar and was selected as a Teaching Assistant for the foundational moot court program. In this capacity, she co-wrote a legal problem, edited student responses, gave research guidance, and prepared students for oral argument. After graduating with honors, Mariah worked in the litigation department of a top-tier global law firm.
At present, Mariah works one-on-one with law school graduates preparing for the bar exam. She provides detailed feedback on practice essays, advises on successful legal writing and general study strategies, and tutors students on complex legal issues.
Mariah’s editing experience is not limited to the law. She has also provided in depth editing and advice on personal statements and on resumes and cover letters ranging from nannies to engineers.
